Can I leave static images on the display for long periods?

No, we do not recommend prolonged display of static images on the display. Doing so can lead to OLED burn-in.

OLED burn-in is the result of static images or on-screen elements displaying on the screen uninterrupted for many hours or days at a time – with brightness typically at peak levels. Burn-in and image retention are possible on virtually any display.

To mitigate this, we would recommend not having the Looking Glass displays connected to a computer for hours at a time if you are not showing any moving content or to use dynamic content or screen savers.
