Go - Why do I have to use an app to set up my Looking Glass Go?

The Go mobile app is designed to provide your Looking Glass Go with over-the-air (OTA) firmware update capabilities. While not strictly necessary for using your Go, the app provides functionalities beyond the firmware update, like playlist management and syncing, which when done wirelessly through the app removes the need for connecting your Go directly to your computer.
