What software plugins are available for creating content on the Looking Glass?

Looking Glass provides different creation tools for Light Field Displays and Hololuminescent Displays. Choose the workflow that matches your display family.

Light Field Display creator tools

  • Unity: the primary real-time pipeline for interactive holographic applications.
  • Unreal Engine: a workflow for cinematic rendering and compatible real-time projects.
  • Blender: render quilt images and animations from Blender scenes.
  • WebXR: build browser-based holographic experiences with compatible web frameworks.
  • Bridge SDK: add Looking Glass support to a native app, custom renderer, or media player.

These tools create or render multi-view content for Light Field Displays. Looking Glass Bridge must be installed for computer-connected use.

Hololuminescent Display pipelines

HLDs use standard 9:16 portrait video rather than quilts. Use HLD Author to import video, images, or 3D media, frame the content for the alcove, and export for the correct playback target.

You can also create HLD video in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Blender, Cinema 4D, or similar tools. Unity and Unreal Engine can drive a live HLD 16-inch, 27-inch, or 86-inch because the output is a conventional video signal.

musubi

The musubi app is available for Windows and macOS. It imports photos and videos, creates depth effects, organizes albums, and transfers content to the display over USB-C.
