How does the Looking Glass technology work?
The Looking Glass displays use proprietary light field technology to produce up to 100 views of a single 3D scene simultaneously, allowing multiple viewers to see 3D content without the need for glasses or eye tracking.
These views are displayed over a view cone of roughly 58° wide and the arrangement of views tricks the visual perception system into seeing 3D objects in two major ways:
- By changing the user's aspect on the scene as they move their head around it (parallax)
- By presenting different perspectives to each eye (stereo vision)
